Acne Scarring
Acne scarring refers to the permanent textural changes and indentations that occur on the skin after severe acne heals. These scars result from the inflammation and damage caused by acne lesions, such as pimples, cysts or nodules.
When the acne lesion breaks the skin and penetrates deeper layers, the body attempts to repair the damage by producing collagen fibers. If the body produces too little or too much collagen, it can lead to different types of acne scars.
Depending on the severity there are a number of treatments that can help:
-
Skincare – Obagi Medical Skincare
If you have mild acne scarring, a retinoid or salicylic acid can make scarring less noticeable.
-
Chemical Peels (Blue Peel Radiance)
Applying a chemical peel to the skin helps the body produce more collagen and elastin. When the skin has more of both, depressed acne scars tend to be less noticeable.
-
Dermalux LED Light Therapy
This treatment treats a number of skin concerns ranging from: Acne and Problem skin, Pigmentation, Rosacea and Redness, Eczema, Psoriasis and Dermatitis.
-
RF Microneedling
Artemis; radiofrequency microneedling combines radiofrequency with microneedling, a procedure that punctures your skin with tiny needles. Using both can produce less noticeable acne scars than either radiofrequency or microneedling alone.
